Job Title: Assistant Accountant
Job Summary
The Assistant Accountant supports the accounting department by performing daily financial tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with reports and reconciliations. The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports
- Maintain and update accounting records and ledgers
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports
- Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Help prepare budgets and financial forecasts
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Assist with audits and tax filings when required
- Maintain proper documentation and filing systems
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good communication and organizational skills
