Position Summary
The Psychology Teacher & Behaviour Counsellor will play a dual role involving academic teaching and student wellbeing support. The candidate will teach Psychology while also supporting students with behavioural, emotional, social, and attention-related challenges through counselling, observation, and intervention strategies.
The role requires a compassionate professional with strong psychological understanding, classroom management skills, and experience working closely with adolescents in school environments.
Key Responsibilities
A. Psychology Teaching
- Teach Psychology to middle school, high school, or senior secondary students as applicable
- Design engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum requirements
- Conduct assessments, projects, presentations, and classroom activities
- Support students in developing critical thinking, emotional awareness, and self-management skills
- Maintain academic records, reports, and student progress documentation
B. Behaviour Counselling & Student Support
- Observe and identify behavioural, emotional, social, or learning-related concerns among students
- Conduct one-on-one counselling and behavioural support sessions
- Support students with stress management, emotional regulation, peer relationships, motivation, and attention challenges
- Develop intervention strategies and behaviour support plans
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and school leadership regarding student wellbeing
- Conduct wellbeing workshops, life-skills sessions, and awareness programs
C. Student Wellbeing & School Support
- Promote a positive and inclusive school culture
- Assist in crisis management and student wellbeing initiatives
- Maintain confidentiality and professional ethical standards
- Support pastoral care and holistic development programs
- Participate in parent meetings, school events, and interdisciplinary discussions
Eligibility Criteria
- PhD in Psychology / Counselling Psychology / Clinical Psychology / Educational Psychology or related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in teaching and/or student counselling
- Prior experience in schools, international schools, or adolescent counselling preferred
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent behaviour
- Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and educators
