The marketing assistant will support the marketing and business development activities of the company by identifying potential clients, maintaining communication with existing customers, assisting in freight bidding processes, and coordinating marketing activities. The role involves client follow-ups, market research, and helping generate new transport business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development
- Identify and approach potential clients such as manufacturers, distributors, warehouses, and logistics companies.
- Generate new transport business through calls, emails, and meetings.
- Maintain a database of prospective and existing clients.
2. Freight Bidding & Quotation
- Monitor logistics portals and tender platforms for new transport opportunities.
- Assist in preparing freight rate quotations and submitting bids.
- Track bid results and maintain records.
3. Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain regular communication with existing clients regarding transport requirements.
- Coordinate with the operations team for vehicle placement and service updates.
- Address client queries and provide timely responses.
4. Marketing & Promotion
- Assist in preparing company profiles, presentations, and marketing materials.
- Support digital marketing efforts such as email marketing and online outreach.
- Schedule meetings with potential clients.
5. Market Research
- Monitor freight market rates and competitor activities.
- Identify new routes, industries, and regions for business expansion.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain marketing records, client lists, and sales tracking sheets.
- Prepare daily/weekly marketing activity reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, and email).
- Ability to handle client communication professionally.
- Basic knowledge of logistics or the transport industry is preferred.
Experience
1–5 years of experience in the marketing, sales, or logistics industry.
