Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
F To receive samples, record in the register, label with identification number and arrange for the distribution of the samples accordingly.
F To perform all routine tests in the laboratory.
F To be responsible for timely performance of the tests and dispatch of reports especially stat and urgent reports.
F In case of any problems to bring it to the notice of the Medical director and concern consultant.
F To make the patient comfortable and collect blood samples from OP, IP and MHC as per the time schedule and to label them correctly.
F To ensure that the patient follows the instructions of the referring physician, if any.
F To maintain the collection register by recording the name and the number of the patient.
F To be responsible for the dispatch of samples to the correct labs by informing the respective attender about it.
F To be answerable to the technicians in matters related to blood collection and the dispatch of samples
F To participate and contribute to the departmental quality initiatives.
F To be aware of departments performance and objective.
F To carry out data collection/support in data collection.
F To adhere to the safety norms of the hospital, follow both patient, and staff safety rules.
