Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced payroll and compliance professional to lead end‑to‑end payroll operations, ensure statutory compliance, and provide labour law advisory. The role involves managing client deliverables, acting as a subject matter expert, and simplifying complex labour law concepts for practical business use.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review payroll processing, reconciliations, and audit‑ready documentation.
- Ensure comprehensive compliance with all the labour law statutory requirements including PF, ESI, PT, Income Tax, Gratuity, Bonus, and other applicable labour laws, with strict adherence to the provisions of the new Labour Codes.
- Provide labour law advisory and guide clients on compliance risks and policy structuring.
- Lead and guide the team in managing statutory filings, returns, and payments to ensure zero non-compliance or penalties, along with overseeing labour law registrations, amendments, renewals, and closures.
- Lead and mentor a payroll & compliance team, driving accuracy and productivity.
- Present compliance updates, risk assessments, and actionable recommendations.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and optimize payroll systems (ZOHO Payroll, Keka, GreytHR).
- Support business development with technical expertise in client discussions.
- Assist in designing compliant and optimized salary structures and CTC frameworks.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, HR, or Law (LLB) or related field.
- 12–14 years of payroll & compliance experience, with 4–5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliances.
- Hands‑on experience with ZOHO Payroll, Keka, and GreytHR.
- Excellent client handling, advisory, and communication skills.
- High integrity and ability to manage confidential information.
Preferred
- Multi‑state payroll and compliance experience.
- Experience in payroll automation and HRMS integrations.
