Structural Fitter – Shipyard
Job Summary
A Structural Fitter is responsible for fabrication, fitting, and assembly of structural components used in shipbuilding and ship repair. The role involves reading technical drawings, marking, cutting, aligning, and installing steel structures such as hull sections, bulkheads, decks, and foundations.

Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret structural drawings / blueprints / GA drawings
- Mark and prepare steel plates, sections, and profiles
- Perform cutting, grinding, and edge preparation
- Fit and align structural parts using hand & power tools
- Assemble components such as:
- Hull structures
- Bulkheads
- Decks
- Stiffeners
- Foundations
- Supports & brackets
- Ensure proper dimensional accuracy & alignment
- Carry out tack fitting prior to welding
- Use tools like:
- Gas cutting set
- Grinding machines
- Measuring instruments (tape, vernier, spirit level)
- Work with welders during fabrication & erection
- Perform corrections & adjustments where required
- Follow shipyard safety procedures & PPE compliance
- Maintain cleanliness of work area

Qualifications / Experience
- ITI / Technical Trade Certification (Fitter / Fabrication / Equivalent)
- Experience in shipyard / heavy fabrication / marine industry preferred
- Knowledge of shipbuilding standards is an advantage
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹9,959.36 - ₹27,145.63 per month
Work Location: In person
