Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Senior MEP Engineer to lead the planning, design coordination, execution, and quality control of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works across residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, site execution experience, and the ability to coordinate effectively with architects, structural engineers, consultants, contractors, and project management teams to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review MEP drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical submittals for accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, consultants, and project managers to resolve design and execution issues.
- Monitor site execution to ensure MEP installations comply with approved drawings, quality standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and as-built drawings.
- Manage MEP contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely completion of work.
- Prepare project schedules, monitor progress, and identify risks that may impact project timelines.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, electrical regulations, plumbing standards, fire safety requirements, and statutory approvals.
- Monitor project costs, material consumption, and resource utilization to support budget control.
- Participate in client meetings, site coordination meetings, and progress reviews.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and site teams.
- Prepare project reports, progress updates, and handover documentation.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in MEP engineering within the construction industry.
- Proven experience in residential, commercial, industrial, or mixed-use construction projects.
- Experience in complete project execution from design coordination through testing and commissioning.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of Revit MEP, Navisworks, or BIM software is preferred.
- Ability to review and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Thorough understanding of MEP coordination and clash detection.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, electrical standards, plumbing regulations, and fire safety requirements.
- Strong project planning, scheduling, and resource management skills.
- Experience with testing, commissioning, and handover processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Leadership skills with the ability to supervise multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting quality, budget, and schedule objectives.
