Our Fulfillment Platform manages critical workflows including order processing, warehouse operations, inventory management, carrier integrations, and billing reconciliation. We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to both the ongoing enhancement of our production platform and the development of its next-generation architecture.
In this role, you will take complete ownership of backend features—from database design and API development to deployment and production support. You will work on complex business workflows, integrate with external platforms, optimize system performance, and solve challenging production issues. Key areas of responsibility include:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs.
- Build end-to-end features across order management, warehouse operations, inventory, billing, and fulfillment workflows.
- Design and optimize database schemas, SQL queries, and data migration strategies.
- Integrate with third-party platforms including shipping carriers, accounting software, and marketplace APIs.
- Develop and maintain background jobs, scheduled tasks, and automation processes.
- Investigate and resolve complex production issues across applications, databases, and infrastructure.
- Ensure application reliability, performance, scalability, and data integrity.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams while independently driving technical solutions.\
What You'll Work On
Backend Development
- Develop and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Python and Flask.
- Build scalable REST APIs and backend services.
- Design and implement complete features from database to deployment.
- Work across modules including order management, warehouse management, inventory, billing, and customer portals.
Database & Data Engineering
- Design and optimize MySQL databases.
- Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and complex joins.
- Perform query optimization, indexing, transaction management, and database performance tuning.
- Execute database migrations while ensuring data integrity.
API Integrations
- Integrate with third-party platforms including logistics providers, shipping carriers, accounting systems, and marketplace APIs.
- Develop secure REST API integrations using authentication mechanisms such as OAuth and API Keys.
- Troubleshoot API failures, webhook issues, and synchronization problems.
Background Jobs & Automation
- Develop and maintain scheduled jobs, asynchronous workflows, and automation processes.
- Build automation for inventory synchronization, billing reconciliation, reporting, and order processing.
- Ensure reliability and performance of recurring background tasks.
Production Support & System Reliability
- Investigate production issues across applications, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.
- Monitor application performance and maintain production stability.
- Support deployment activities and release management processes.
Cloud & DevOps
- Work with Docker-based development environments.
- Support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Deploy and maintain applications on AWS infrastructure.
- Assist in infrastructure optimization and production deployments.

Must-Have Skills
- 6–10 years of hands-on experience in Backend Development using Python.
- Strong expertise in Flask framework.
- Advanced knowledge of MySQL, SQL optimization, indexing, transactions, and database performance tuning.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of SQLAlchemy and MySQL database drivers.
- Experience with Docker and containerized application development.
- Proficiency with Git, including branching strategies, rebasing, merge conflict resolution, and pull request workflows.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working on large-scale production applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good to Have (Not Mandatory)
- Experience with AWS services including ECS, EC2, ECR, S3, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with Redis for caching and background processing.
- Knowledge of Pandas and NumPy for data processing.
- Experience with Nginx configuration.
- Familiarity with ReportLab, OpenPyXL, and Google Sheets API.
- Exposure to SonarQube and automated testing frameworks such as PyTest or UnitTest.
- Experience working with logistics, warehouse management, fulfillment, or e-commerce platforms.
- Familiarity with ShipStation, QuickBooks, carrier integrations, or inventory management systems.
