Job Title: Head – Design & Tool Room

Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically strong Head – Design & Tool Room to lead end-to-end tooling, product development, and engineering functions at Anshika Fasteners.
This is a mission-critical leadership role responsible for:
- Driving New Product Development (NPD)
- Designing and optimizing tools, dies, and processes
- Leading PPAP and customer approvals
- Ensuring zero production downtime due to tooling
- Continuously improving tool life, productivity, and cost efficiency
The role requires a hands-on leader with deep expertise in cold forging, hot forging, threading, stamping, and heat treatment processes.
Key Responsibilities1. New Product Development (NPD) & Feasibility
- Lead end-to-end NPD lifecycle from RFQ stage to mass production
- Conduct detailed feasibility analysis (technical + commercial)
- Review customer drawings and develop manufacturing strategy
- Define process flow, cycle time, and tooling requirements
- Collaborate with sales and customers for design optimization and cost reduction
2. Tool & Die Design
- Design and develop:
- Cold forging dies (multi-station formers)
- Hot forging tools
- Thread rolling dies
- Stamping dies (125T / 200T presses)
- Ensure robust tool design for high-volume production
- Standardize tooling practices across products
- Implement simulation-based design (if applicable) to reduce trials
3. Tool Room Operations & Management
- Lead the complete tool room function:
- Tool manufacturing
- Maintenance and reconditioning
- Inventory control
- Ensure availability of tools at all times to avoid production delays
- Establish preventive systems for:
- Tool wear monitoring
- Tool replacement planning
- Drive quick turnaround for tool development and repair
4. Tool Life Improvement & Cost Optimization
- Continuously improve:
- Tool life
- Die performance
- Setup efficiency
- Analyze tool failures and implement:
- Root cause analysis (RCA)
- Corrective and preventive actions
- Optimize tooling cost per kg / per piece
- Work closely with production to reduce:
- Tool breakage
- Machine downtime
- Rejection due to tooling issues
5. Production Support & Zero Downtime
- Ensure zero line stoppage due to tooling failures
- Provide real-time troubleshooting support to:
- Forging lines
- Thread rolling
- Stamping
- Develop backup tooling strategies for critical parts
- Maintain readiness for high-volume production (especially solar, export, OEM parts)
6. PPAP, APQP & Customer Approvals
- Lead preparation and submission of:
- PPAP documents (Level 3 / 4 as required)
- Process Flow Diagrams
- PFMEA
- Control Plans
- Support sample development and validation:
- Dimensional approvals
- Functional testing
- Coordinate with QA and customers for:
- Trials
- Corrections
- Final approvals
7. Process Engineering & Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in:
- Cycle time reduction
- Productivity enhancement
- Yield improvement
- Implement lean manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives
- Standardize best practices across:
- Bolt formers
- Nut formers
- Headers
- Stamping lines
8. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with:
- Production
- Quality
- Sales
- Purchase
- Align tooling and design with:
- Customer requirements
- Delivery commitments
- Cost targets
9. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop a strong team of:
- Tool designers
- Tool room operators
- Engineers and supervisors
- Build technical capability in:
- Advanced tooling
- Failure analysis
- Precision machining
- Create a culture of ownership, speed, and accountability

- Tool life improvement (% increase)

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Tool Engineering
- Experience: 10–15+ years in fastener manufacturing or similar industry
- Strong expertise in:
- Cold forging / hot forging
- Multi-station formers and headers
- Tool steel selection and heat treatment
- Die design and failure analysis
Desired Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical ability
- Hands-on approach with shop-floor involvement
- Deep understanding of fastener standards (ISO, ASTM, DIN)
- Experience in high-volume production environments
- Knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks / AutoCAD / NX)
- Familiarity with IATF / PPAP / APQP systems

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
