About the Position
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Analyst with strong Banking/BFSI domain experience to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of banking operations, experience working on end-to-end software implementation projects, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
As part of a growing organization, the candidate will be expected to perform multiple roles beyond traditional business analysis, including functional testing, requirement validation, project coordination, and stakeholder communication.
Duties and Responsibilities
Business Analysis
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from clients and stakeholders.
Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS), User Stories, Process Flows, and Use Cases.
Conduct requirement workshops, discussions, and walkthroughs with clients.
Translate business requirements into functional specifications for development teams.
Participate in solution design discussions and provide domain inputs.
Banking Domain Consulting
Understand and analyze banking business processes and operational workflows.
Provide domain expertise for Banking and BFSI-related applications.
Assist clients in defining business processes and identifying solution gaps.
Ensure proposed solutions align with banking operational requirements and regulatory considerations.
Functional Testing & Quality Assurance
Prepare test scenarios and test cases based on business requirements.
Execute functional, integration, and UAT testing.
Validate delivered functionality against requirements.
Log, track, and coordinate defect resolution with development teams.
Support clients during UAT and production rollout activities.
Data Analysis & Database Validation
Perform data validation and reconciliation activities.
Write and execute SQL queries for data analysis and verification.
Analyze transaction data and investigate functional issues.
Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities.
Project Coordination
Track project milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
Coordinate between clients, development teams, QA teams, and management.
Monitor requirement changes and ensure proper documentation.
Prepare project status reports and meeting minutes.
Escalate risks, dependencies, and issues proactively.
Client Communication
Act as a primary functional point of contact for clients.
Conduct requirement discussions, demonstrations, and training sessions.
Prepare professional project documentation and communication.
Ensure effective verbal and written communication with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
Banking experience is highly preferred.
Candidates who have worked in a bank and subsequently transitioned into a Business Analyst role within a Banking/BFSI software company will be given preference.
Experience Requirements
4 to 8 years of overall experience.
Minimum 2 to 3 complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) project implementations as a Business Analyst.
Experience in Banking or BFSI domain projects is mandatory.
Exposure to Core Banking, Lending, Collections, Payments, Reconciliation, Trade Finance, Treasury, or similar banking functions will be advantageous.
Technical Skills
Good SQL and database querying skills.
Experience in data validation and reconciliation activities.
Understanding of APIs, system integrations, and data flows.
Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
