The Assistant Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in the planning, execution, and supervision of Mechanical works associated with Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs). The position requires expertise in mechanical engineering concepts, site management, and coordination with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution:
- Assist in the preparation and review of mechanical engineering designs, layouts, and drawings.
- Supervise and monitor construction activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and specifications.
- Site Supervision:
- Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with design, quality, and safety standards.
- Identify potential risks or issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of site activities, including progress reports, material usage, and inspection logs.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for review by the project team.
- Coordination & Communication:
- Work closely with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Resolve on-site issues promptly and escalate major challenges to the Project Manager.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the EPC sector, preferably in water or wastewater treatment projects.
- Fresh graduates with relevant internships will also be considered.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/ any other mechanical engineering design/drafting software.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and under tight deadlines.
