A PEB (Pre-Engineered Buildings) Draftsman creates precise technical drawings, shop details, and erection layouts for steel structures using CAD software. Key duties include preparing General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication shop drawings, and coordinating with engineering and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
Drawing Preparation: Create clear 2D/3D layouts, anchor bolt plans, framing cross-sections, roof/wall sheeting layouts, and flashing details.
Shop & Erection Details: Generate accurate mark-up and shop fabrication drawings for columns, rafters, purlins, and bracing members to guide factory production.
Revision Management: Update existing drawings based on redline corrections from structural engineers and project managers.
Material Estimation: Assist in generating accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and quantity take-offs for steel profiles and accessories.
Team Coordination: Liaise with plant production and site erection teams to resolve site queries and ensure design feasibility.
Requirements & Skills
Education: Diploma or Degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or a Certificate in CAD Drafting.
Experience: 2 to 5 years of dedicated drafting experience in the PEB or structural steel fabrication industry. PEB experience is mandatory
Software Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience in AutoCAD.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of industrial building components, connection details, and steel design standards.
