Windows Server & Infrastructure Support
- Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Windows Server OS (2016/2019/2022) .
- Handle, escalated L2 issues from L1 teams and provide root cause analysis (RCA) with corrective and preventive actions.
- Perform daily server health checks , performance tuning, and capacity monitoring .
- Conduct server provisioning , disk and storage management.
- Perform backup and restore operations using enterprise backup tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup).
- Manage virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere and Hyper-V .
Directory Services & Core Infrastructure
- Administer Active Directory , including user/group management, Group Policies, FSMO roles , and domain health.
- Design & Manage DNS, DHCP .
- Support Remote Desktop Services (RDS) , IIS , and Certificate Services (AD CS) .
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Patch, Security & Compliance
- Perform patch management using Azure Update Management .
- Ensure IT security compliance , and vulnerability remediation .
- Apply security hardening standards , baseline configurations, and audit recommendations.
- Support incident response and security-related escalations.
Azure & Cloud (L2 Support Engineer Responsibilities)
- Provide L2 support for Microsoft Azure services , including:
- Azure / AWS Virtual Machines
- Azure / AWS Virtual Networks (VNet), NSG, Load Balancers
- Azure / AWS Storage (Blob, File, Managed Disks)
- Azure / AWS Backup and Azure Site Recovery
- Monitor and troubleshoot Azure resources using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Alerts .
- Support Azure Active Directory , Azure AD Connect , and identity synchronization issues.
- Manage Azure RBAC , subscriptions, and access controls.
- Perform Azure VM provisioning , resizing, disk expansion, and performance optimization.
- Support hybrid environments integrating on-premises infrastructure with Azure.
- Monitor and optimize Azure costs using Azure Cost Management.
- Assist in on-prem to Azure migration activities and post-migration support.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (VPN and basic ExpressRoute support).
Automation & Scripting
- Use PowerShell scripting for automation, reporting, and bulk administrative tasks.
- Develop scripts for user management, server health checks, and Azure operations .
ITSM, Documentation & Collaboration
- Participate in Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes (ITIL).
- Maintain detailed documentation , SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
- Collaborate with Internal engineers, cloud architects, and security teams for complex issues.
