Good Earth Renewable Services Pvt. Ltd. is a solar energy company engaged in the development and execution of ground-mounted solar projects across India. We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Lead Designer to lead solar design and engineering activities for our projects.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Lead Designer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the solar ground-mount industry. The candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating solar project designs, ensuring technical accuracy, optimization, and compliance with project requirements.
The candidate will work closely with the Project, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Procurement, and Site Execution teams to ensure smooth implementation of approved designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering activities for ground-mounted solar PV projects.
- Prepare and review solar plant layouts, module layouts, inverter layouts, and equipment layouts.
- Develop and review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and electrical drawings.
- Perform and review DC/AC cable sizing, voltage-drop calculations, string sizing, and electrical calculations.
- Prepare/review earthing and lightning protection designs.
- Conduct PVsyst simulations and generation/loss analysis.
- Coordinate with civil and structural teams for module mounting structures, foundations, roads, drainage, and equipment locations.
- Review engineering drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and design documents.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable IS/IEC standards, project specifications, and client/consultant requirements.
- Review vendor drawings and technical submittals.
- Coordinate with project and site teams to resolve design-related issues during execution.
- Identify design optimization opportunities to improve project efficiency, cost, constructability, and generation.
- Lead and guide Design Engineers/Draftsmen and review their work.
- Participate in technical discussions with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain proper documentation and revision control of design drawings and engineering documents.
- Provide technical support during project execution, testing, and commissioning.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in solar ground-mounted projects.
- Strong understanding of solar PV plant design and engineering.
- Good knowledge of DC and AC electrical systems used in utility-scale solar projects.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and PVsyst.
- Knowledge of SLD preparation, cable sizing, earthing, lightning protection, and electrical layouts.
- Ability to read and review electrical, civil, and structural drawings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good coordination and team-management abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet design deadlines.
Educational Qualification
B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
Preferred Candidate
Candidates with experience in utility-scale ground-mounted solar projects and exposure to complete project design from concept/design stage to execution and commissioning will be preferred.
