Oxford University Press is looking for a Content Delivery Controller to join the English Language Teaching (ELT) Operations team. The role provides exposure to a wide range of digital content formats including text, images, video, audio, animation, and games, while working closely with cross-functional teams and publishing service providers. Opportunity – the ‘what’
As a Content Delivery Controller, you will be responsible for processing, managing, integrating, and delivering digital assets to internal teams and external suppliers to support the production and release of digital products.
Key responsibilities include:
Asset Management
Receive, retrieve, process, and deliver text, image, video, audio, animation, and game assets to internal teams and suppliers.
Ensure assets are delivered in line with production schedules.
Archive processed assets and associated files appropriately for future retrieval and compliance.
Digital Content Uploading
Manage the uploading of completed digital content to testing and live production environments.
Monitor uploads and identify issues or error messages.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure content is correctly loaded and available on required platforms.
Support prompt resolution of delivery and platform issues.
Content Integration
Input text and digital assets into existing interactive templates.
Amend content and styles where required.
Ensure content is accurately integrated into ELT digital products and platforms.
Quality Assurance
Support checking and testing activities across digital products.
Help ensure final releases are stable, functional, and meet defined quality standards.
Work with project teams to resolve identified issues efficiently.
Administrative Support
Provide administrative support across project activities.
Maintain organized documentation and project records.
Support smooth day-to-day project operations.
Project Assistance
Provide technical and production support throughout the digital product build process.
Assist Content Delivery Managers and team members in delivering projects on time and within budget.
Contribute to successful delivery of digital publishing programmes.
Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for process enhancement and automation.
Support initiatives that reduce manual effort on repetitive activities.
Implement agreed improvements and monitor efficiency gains.
Contribute ideas that improve workflows, productivity, and operational effectiveness.
Impact of the Role
This role plays a critical part in ensuring digital learning products are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. Through effective asset management, content integration, quality assurance, and process improvement, the Content Delivery Controller directly supports the successful publication and maintenance of ELT digital products and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the Content Operations function.
About You
Essential Criteria
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
Proficiency in HTML, XML, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign.
Experience processing digital files within a publishing, digital, or media environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
High standard of literacy and numeracy.
University degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
Proven English language proficiency at CEFR Level C1 (Advanced) or above.
Qualification or relevant experience working within a digital or media environment.
Proven experience working effectively within a team environment to achieve project objectives.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
Desirable Criteria
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
Experience working in a publishing or publishing services environment.
English language proficiency at CEFR Level C2.
Experience identifying and implementing automation or workflow improvement opportunities.
