Junior Purchase Engineer / Purchase Executive

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Purchase Engineer / Purchase Executive with a Mechanical Engineering background to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate should have 2–3 years of experience in purchasing activities within an engineering manufacturing or EPC environment and possess sound knowledge of engineering materials, equipment, and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure engineering equipment, raw materials, fabricated components, and consumables as per project and production requirements.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and commercial terms.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely order placement and follow-up.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, planning, and project teams to understand procurement requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, and cost.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and documentation requirements.
- Track order status and expedite deliveries to meet project timelines.
- Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and purchase reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–3 years of relevant purchasing experience in an Engineering Manufacturing, Process Equipment, Fabrication, or EPC company.
- Strong understanding of engineering procurement processes.
Essential Technical Knowledge
Candidates must have sound knowledge of:
- Engineering equipment and industrial components.
- Various grades of stainless steel, including SS304, SS304L, SS316, SS316L, and other engineering materials.
- Carbon steel, alloy steel, sheets, plates, pipes, tubes, fittings, flanges, fasteners, valves, and fabricated components.
- Sheet metal materials and manufacturing processes.
- Vendor sourcing and supplier evaluation.
- Technical specifications, material standards, and procurement documentation.
Desired Skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, ERP procurement systems.
- Proficiency in Auto-CAD shall be an added advantage
- Good analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and industry standards.
