We have urgent requirement for Product Development Executive for Garment Industry @ Yeshwanthpur, Bangalore.
- Tech Pack & Specification Development: Translate design sketches into industry-standard tech packs containing technical flats, construction details, grading rules, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Material Sourcing & Development: Source appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories that align with design requirements, budget, and sustainability goals.
- Sampling Management: Oversee the creation of initial prototypes, fit samples, and pre-production samples. Conduct fit sessions and coordinate necessary corrections.
- Costing & Negotiation: Calculate garment costs, analyze material pricing, and negotiate with manufacturers and vendors to meet target margins.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the central point of contact between designers, buyers, pattern makers, and factory floor managers.
- Production Readiness: Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing (DFM) without losing their aesthetic appeal, and transition files smoothly into bulk production.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Typically 1–5+ years in technical design, Product Development with garment manufacturing.
- Technical Software: Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (for technical flats), Microsoft Excel, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Textile Knowledge: Deep understanding of fabric weight (GSM), drape, fiber composition, and industrial machinery capabilities.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage tight deadlines. Michael Page +2
