Our vision is to provide an overarching platform for AI-based quality assurance (AIQX) in the global production network to accelerate the end-to-end quality control cycle in vehicle manufacturing. We develop these in an international feature team based on state-of-the-art technologies in close cooperation with our users in the plants.
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our BMW teams of rock-solid specialists developing our AI-based quality assurance solution for BMW’s plants.
In this position, you will take a lead role in the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) and work with latest technologies and trends, which mainly include topics like Machine Learning, Cloud and Edge computing.
Our services mainly run on the Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform. What should you bring along?
- PhD or master’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or a closely related role
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality, production-grade software using Python
- Solve real-world industrial problems using Machine Learning and Deep Learning
- Build, deploy, operate, and scale Machine Learning models in production environments
- Design and implement efficient data and ML pipelines, primarily on Microsoft Azure
- Develop and maintain CI/CD workflows for ML systems
- Implement and evolve MLOps processes to support the full model lifecycle
- Define and support model monitoring, performance tracking, and automated retraining
- Collaborate closely with other Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and GenAI Developers
- Stay current with emerging trends and advancements in Machine Learning and AI
Must have technical skill
- Strong foundation in Deep Learning, with a focus on Computer Vision and/or Generative Models
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow
- Advanced proficiency in Python
- Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying end-to-end ML solutions in production
Good to have technical skills
- Solid understanding of modern MLOps best practices
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and methodologies, including Kubernetes, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure
- Hands-on experience building pipelines using Azure Machine Learning
- Basic understanding of cloud networking and security principles
- Experience designing and developing APIs, using at least one major framework such as:
1. FastAPI
2. GraphQL
3. Django
4. Flask
