Job Summary
The Waiter is responsible for providing courteous, efficient, and professional food and beverage service to guests. The role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, maintaining service standards, and ensuring guest satisfaction in accordance with the hotel's SOPs.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet guests in a warm and professional manner.
- Prepare the restaurant, tables, and service areas before the start of operations.
- Set up tables with cutlery, crockery, glassware, napkins, and other required items.
- Present menus and explain food and beverage items to guests when required.
- Take guest orders accurately and enter them into the POS system.
- Serve food and beverages according to hotel service standards.
- Ensure correct presentation and temperature of food before serving.
- Check with guests during service to ensure their satisfaction.
- Clear used plates, glasses, and cutlery promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of tables, restaurant, and service areas.
- Handle guest requests and complaints courteously and report serious issues to the Captain/Manager.
- Coordinate with the Kitchen, Bar, Stewarding, and Front Office to ensure smooth service.
- Prepare and serve room service orders when assigned.
- Assist with buffet setup, banquets, conferences, and special events.
- Follow proper procedures for billing and payment collection when assigned.
- Inform the Captain about any special guest requirements, allergies, or complaints.
- Maintain proper grooming, personal hygiene, and professional appearance.
- Follow HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and hotel SOPs.
- Handle hotel equipment, crockery, glassware, and cutlery carefully to minimize breakage.
- Assist in opening and closing duties of the restaurant.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Restaurant Captain or Restaurant Manager.
Qualifications
- Minimum Plus Two; Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management is preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience as a Waiter in a hotel or reputed restaurant is preferred.
- Freshers with good communication skills and a positive attitude may also be considered.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service.
- Knowledge of POS systems will be an advantage.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
