The OT Technician (Scrub Side) is responsible for assisting surgeons and the surgical team by preparing and maintaining sterile instruments, ensuring aseptic techniques, and providing the required surgical instruments and supplies during operative procedures. The technician plays a key role in maintaining patient safety and supporting efficient surgical workflow.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare the operation theatre before each surgical procedure.
* Arrange and verify all surgical instruments, equipment, implants, and consumables according to the procedure.
* Perform surgical hand scrub and maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques.
* Set up and organize sterile instrument trolleys.
* Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and other sterile items during surgery.
* Maintain accurate counts of instruments, needles, swabs, and surgical items before, during, and after surgery.
* Identify and report any missing instruments or count discrepancies immediately.
* Ensure proper handling and care of delicate surgical instruments.
* Assist in specimen collection, labeling, and safe transfer to the laboratory.
* Monitor the sterile field throughout the procedure and prevent contamination.
* Assist in patient positioning in coordination with the surgical team.
* Clean, segregate, and send used instruments for decontamination and sterilization after surgery.
* Ensure availability of sterile supplies and report shortages promptly.
* Follow hospital infection prevention and control protocols.
* Maintain documentation related to OT procedures, instrument counts, and equipment usage.
* Participate in emergency surgeries and trauma cases as required.
* Report equipment malfunction or safety concerns immediately.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
