Shreem Meditech is engaged in the import, export, distribution, installation and servicing of medical equipment and healthcare technology products. We work with hospitals, clinics, healthcare institutions, medical professionals and equipment manufacturers in India and international markets.
We are looking for a Medical Equipment Service Engineer to join our technical service team and handle installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and customer support for medical equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Installation, commissioning and demonstration of medical equipment at hospitals, clinics and healthcare facilities.
- Provide on-site technical service and troubleshooting at customer locations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical and software-related equipment problems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of medical equipment.
- Attend service calls and provide timely technical support to customers.
- Carry out equipment testing, calibration and performance verification as required.
- Identify faulty components and carry out repairs or coordinate component replacement.
- Maintain service records, installation reports, maintenance reports and other technical documentation.
- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and technical support teams for troubleshooting and resolution of complex issues.
- Communicate professionally with doctors, biomedical departments, hospital administrators and technical personnel.
- Provide basic user training and operational demonstrations to customers.
- Maintain service tools, equipment and spare parts.
- Assist in new equipment installation and commissioning projects.
- Participate in manufacturer/factory training programs, technical workshops and product training.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and professional conduct.
Field Service & Travel Requirement
This is a field-based technical service role and not a purely office-based/desk job.
The engineer will be required to provide on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair services at customer locations.
The role requires:
- Regular visits to hospitals, clinics and healthcare facilities.
- Outstation travel across Kerala and other parts of India based on customer service requirements.
- Travel for installation and commissioning of equipment.
- Travel for breakdown/service calls and preventive maintenance.
- Visits to manufacturer/service centres for technical training.
- Occasional travel for medical equipment exhibitions, conferences and technical workshops.
Candidates must be willing to travel and stay outside Thiruvananthapuram when required for service assignments.
All authorised business travel and applicable outstation expenses will be covered by the company as per company policy.
Educational Qualification
Preferred:
- B.E./B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering
- B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)
- B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Instrumentation
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechatronics
- Diploma in Biomedical / Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation / Mechatronics Engineering
Candidates with relevant technical qualifications and strong practical troubleshooting skills may also be considered.
Experience
- Fresh graduates/diploma holders with good technical aptitude are welcome to apply.
- Candidates with experience in medical equipment servicing, biomedical equipment maintenance, electronics servicing or field service engineering will have an advantage.
- Experience with hospital equipment, diagnostic equipment, laboratory equipment or other healthcare technology products is desirable.
Required Skills
- Strong fundamentals in electronics and electrical systems.
- Ability to read basic circuit diagrams and technical documentation.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Basic knowledge of sensors, motors, power supplies, control systems and electronic components.
- Ability to use basic electronic testing instruments such as a multimeter.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a technical team.
- Willingness to undertake frequent local and outstation field visits.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Professional approach when dealing with hospitals and healthcare professionals.
Training & Career Development
Selected candidates may receive specialised technical training from equipment manufacturers at their factories/training centres, including training on installation, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of specialised medical equipment.
Such factory/manufacturer training involves significant investment by the company. Where company-sponsored factory training is provided, the employee may be required to execute a service agreement/training bond for a specified period, as per company policy and applicable law.
