Legal Associate – Corporate & TenderingPosition Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Legal Associate to support the organization's corporate legal and tendering functions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in reviewing, drafting, and managing tender-related documentation, corporate contracts, and compliance matters. The role requires strong legal drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills, along with the ability to work closely with business and operational teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesTender & Bid Management
- Review, analyze, and prepare legal documentation related to government, public sector, and private tenders.
- Examine Request for Proposals (RFPs), Expressions of Interest (EOIs), Notices Inviting Tenders (NITs), bid documents, and contractual terms.
- Identify legal and commercial risks associated with tender submissions and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant bid submissions.
- Draft and review pre-bid queries, clarifications, declarations, undertakings, and supporting legal documents.
Corporate Legal Matters
- Draft, review, negotiate, and vet commercial agreements, including service agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, NDAs, and consultancy agreements.
- Provide legal support on corporate governance and regulatory compliance matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable corporate laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Maintain and manage legal records, contract repositories, and compliance documentation.
Contract Review & Risk Management
- Identify contractual risks and recommend practical solutions to safeguard organizational interests.
- Support contract lifecycle management from drafting and negotiation to execution and renewal.
- Assist in dispute prevention through robust contract review and legal advisory.
Legal Research & Advisory
- Conduct legal research on corporate, commercial, and regulatory issues.
- Prepare legal opinions, summaries, and advisory notes for management.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the business and provide timely updates.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with business development, procurement, finance, and operations teams on tender and contractual matters.
- Liaise with external counsel, consultants, and regulatory authorities whenever required.
Qualifications
- LL.B. degree from a recognized university.
- Enrollment with the Bar Council will be preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in corporate legal work, tender documentation, contract management, or a related legal role.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of tendering processes, bid documentation, and contract review.
- Excellent drafting, vetting, and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of corporate and commercial laws.
- Strong legal research and analytical abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal documentation management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in handling government, PSU, infrastructure, EPC, technology, healthcare, or service-sector tenders.
- Exposure to procurement contracts and regulatory compliance matters.
- Experience working in a corporate legal department, consultancy, or law firm.
