Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Blood Bank Technician to perform blood collection, processing, testing, storage, and issue of blood and blood components. The candidate will ensure compliance with hospital protocols, quality standards, and transfusion safety practices while supporting the efficient functioning of the Blood Bank.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform blood grouping, Rh typing, cross-matching, and compatibility testing.
- Process, label, store, and issue blood and blood components according to standard operating procedures.
- Conduct routine laboratory procedures related to blood banking.
- Maintain proper storage conditions and monitor blood inventory.
- Record and maintain accurate documentation of donor details, test results, and blood component issuance.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure timely calibration.
- Follow quality assurance, infection control, and biomedical waste management protocols.
- Coordinate with clinicians and other hospital departments to ensure timely availability of blood and blood components.
- Report discrepancies, equipment issues, and stock shortages to the Blood Bank In-charge.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and applicable regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology (B.Sc. MLT)
- Only B.Sc. candidates Prefered
