About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and customer-friendly Travel & Ticketing Executive to join our in-house team at TC Holidays, Nungambakkam.
The person will be responsible for handling the complete travel requirements of our clients, including domestic and international flight ticketing, hotel bookings, itinerary assistance, ticket changes, cancellations, refunds and other travel-related support.
The ideal candidate should have good practical knowledge of airline ticketing and international travel, be comfortable communicating with customers, and be capable of independently managing client requirements from enquiry to completion.
We are particularly looking for someone who is patient, responsive, service-oriented and genuinely enjoys helping customers with their travel requirements.
Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Domestic & International Air Ticketing
- Handle domestic and international flight booking requirements for individual and corporate clients.
- Search and compare available flight options based on price, timings, baggage allowance, airline preference, routing and customer requirements.
- Provide suitable flight options and recommendations to clients.
- Make reservations and issue air tickets accurately.
- Handle one-way, round-trip, multi-city and connecting flight bookings.
- Handle group travel and multiple-passenger bookings when required.
- Ensure passenger names, passport details, travel dates and other booking information are entered accurately.
- Check fare rules, baggage allowance, cancellation conditions and other applicable restrictions before ticket issuance.
- Coordinate with airlines, consolidators and other travel suppliers whenever required.
2. International Ticketing & Travel Support
- Handle international travel requirements with attention to airline rules and international routing.
- Assist clients with flight schedules, transit information, baggage rules and fare conditions.
- Understand basic requirements relating to international travel and advise customers appropriately.
- Handle complicated itineraries involving multiple destinations and connecting flights.
- Coordinate with the relevant internal team for visa, insurance or other travel-related requirements wherever applicable.
- Keep updated with airline schedule changes, route changes and major fare/rule updates.
3. Ticket Changes, Cancellations & Refunds
- Handle flight date/time changes, rebooking and ticket modifications.
- Process cancellations and refund requests as per airline/fare rules.
- Calculate applicable cancellation charges, change fees and fare differences.
- Communicate refund eligibility and applicable charges clearly to customers.
- Follow up with airlines/consolidators regarding pending refunds.
- Maintain proper records of cancelled and modified tickets.
- Handle urgent travel changes professionally and efficiently.
4. Hotel Booking – Worldwide
- Handle hotel booking requirements for clients travelling across India and internationally.
- Search and recommend suitable hotels based on location, budget, category, facilities, reviews and client preferences.
- Make hotel reservations through appropriate booking platforms, suppliers or directly with hotels.
- Handle individual, family and corporate hotel bookings.
- Check room types, meal plans, cancellation policies, check-in/check-out timings and other booking conditions.
- Coordinate special requests such as early check-in, late check-out, airport transfers, extra beds and other requirements.
- Ensure hotel confirmation vouchers and booking details are shared with customers accurately.
- Handle hotel amendments, cancellations and refund requests.
5. Customer Service & Client Handling
- Act as a reliable point of contact for clients for their travel requirements.
- Understand the customer's requirement before suggesting options.
- Respond to customer enquiries professionally through phone, email and messaging platforms.
- Maintain a friendly, patient and helpful approach even during difficult situations.
- Provide quick responses to urgent travel requirements.
- Follow up with customers proactively instead of waiting for them to ask for updates.
- Build long-term relationships with clients through excellent service.
- Handle complaints and service issues calmly and find practical solutions.
- Ensure customers receive complete and accurate information before confirming any booking.
6. Corporate Client Support
- Handle regular travel requirements of corporate clients and their employees.
- Coordinate domestic and international business travel bookings.
- Understand corporate travel policies and booking preferences.
- Maintain preferred airline, hotel and traveller information wherever required.
- Handle last-minute travel requirements and changes professionally.
- Coordinate with HR, Administration, Procurement and management teams of corporate clients.
- Maintain proper documentation and booking records for corporate accounts.
7. Travel Documentation & Accuracy
- Verify passenger details before ticket issuance.
- Ensure names match passports for international travel.
- Maintain proper records of tickets, hotel confirmations, invoices and related documents.
- Double-check travel dates, destinations, flight numbers, timings and passenger information.
- Ensure all booking confirmations are communicated clearly to customers.
- Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate travel information.
8. Airline & Supplier Coordination
- Coordinate with airlines, GDS/consolidators, hotel suppliers and other travel partners.
- Resolve booking-related issues with suppliers.
- Follow up on waitlisted, pending, cancelled or schedule-changed bookings.
- Obtain clarification on fare rules, refunds and reissues when required.
- Maintain good working relationships with travel suppliers.
9. Travel Changes & Emergency Assistance
- Assist clients when flights are delayed, cancelled, rescheduled or disrupted.
- Help customers identify alternative flight options during travel disruptions.
- Handle urgent rebooking requirements.
- Coordinate with airlines and suppliers for emergency changes wherever possible.
- Provide timely updates to customers during disruptions.
- Remain calm and professional when dealing with time-sensitive situations.
10. Documentation, Billing & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain booking records and client files.
- Coordinate with the accounts team regarding ticket and hotel invoices.
- Ensure correct billing information is recorded.
- Maintain daily booking and transaction records.
- Prepare basic reports related to ticketing and hotel bookings when required.
- Ensure all booking-related documents are properly filed and accessible.
Required Skills & ExperienceEssential
- 3–5 years of practical experience in travel ticketing and reservations.
- IATA course/certification is expected.
- Strong practical knowledge of domestic and international air ticketing.
- Experience handling flight changes, cancellations, reissues and refunds.
- Experience in international hotel reservations.
- Good knowledge of airline fare rules and ticketing procedures.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Comfortable communicating with customers over phone, email and messaging platforms.
- Good computer skills and ability to work with online travel booking systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred
- Experience with GDS platforms such as Amadeus, Galileo or Sabre.
- Experience handling corporate travel clients.
- Experience with international destinations and complex itineraries.
- Knowledge of hotel booking platforms and travel supplier portals.
- Experience handling group bookings.
- Knowledge of basic travel documentation and visa-related requirements.
- Previous experience working with a travel company, corporate travel desk or IATA-accredited travel organization.

The successful candidate should be able to independently manage a client's travel requirement — from understanding the requirement and suggesting the right flight/hotel options to booking, ticket issuance, documentation, changes, cancellations and post-booking support.
More importantly, the candidate should ensure that every client feels properly looked after before, during and after their journey.
