KGISL Infrastructure is seeking a highly experienced and result-oriented Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction and infrastructure industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for quantity estimation, cost planning, budgeting, contract administration, billing, cost control, and commercial management of projects. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills and extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, contractual practices, and project cost management.
Key Responsibilities
Quantity Estimation & Cost Planning
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Develop accurate cost estimates, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and project budgets.
- Verify quantities for civil, structural, architectural, interior, and MEP works.
- Prepare cost plans throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review drawings and specifications to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Cost Control & Budget Management
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets and identify cost variances.
- Prepare monthly cost reports and commercial dashboards for management.
- Recommend value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs.
- Analyze material consumption and labor productivity to improve cost efficiency.
- Forecast project costs and cash flow requirements.
Billing & Commercial Management
- Prepare and certify contractor and subcontractor RA Bills.
- Verify client bills based on executed quantities and contractual terms.
- Ensure timely submission of client invoices and certification.
- Monitor payment status and coordinate with the Accounts Department for collections.
- Prepare final bills and settlement statements.
Contract Administration
- Review tender documents, BOQs, specifications, and contract conditions.
- Assist in tender evaluation and contractor selection.
- Administer contracts in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Manage contract variations, claims, and change orders.
- Prepare extension of time (EOT) documentation where applicable.
- Resolve contractual disputes through proper documentation and negotiation.
Procurement Support
- Coordinate with the Purchase team for quantity verification and material planning.
- Evaluate vendor quotations from a commercial perspective.
- Assist in procurement planning based on project requirements.
- Verify material reconciliation statements.
Project Coordination
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Planning Engineers, Architects, Consultants, and Clients.
- Participate in project review meetings and commercial discussions.
- Ensure commercial compliance throughout project execution.
- Support timely project completion by proactively resolving commercial issues.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate quantity records and commercial documentation.
- Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports.
- Maintain contract registers, variation logs, and payment trackers.
- Ensure proper filing of all commercial correspondence and approvals.
- Support internal and external audits by providing commercial documentation.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to company policies, contractual obligations, and statutory requirements.
- Identify commercial risks and recommend mitigation measures.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards from a commercial perspective.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Mandatory).
- Additional qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Contracts Management, or Project Management will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in infrastructure, commercial, industrial, or residential construction projects.
