Job Description: Head Captain / Front of House Lead
We are looking for a charismatic and organized Head Captain to lead our service team. As the face of the floor, you will be responsible for ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless experience that balances professional service with a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The ideal candidate is a natural leader who can manage high-pressure shifts while maintaining a meticulous eye for detail and a genuine passion for hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
* Service Leadership: Supervise the daily operations of the wait staff, ensuring all service standards are met from greeting to final billing.
* Guest Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for guest inquiries, feedback, and conflict resolution, ensuring every visitor leaves satisfied.
* Staff Training: Mentor and train junior staff on menu knowledge, table etiquette, and suggestive selling techniques.
* Floor Management: Coordinate table rotations and reservations to optimize seating capacity and minimize wait times.
* Quality Control: Ensure the dining area remains pristine and that all food and beverages are served according to the cafe's presentation standards.
* Inventory & Coordination: Work closely with the kitchen team to communicate for items, specials; manage front-of-house supplies and cutlery inventory.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Experience: 2+ years in a premium cafe or restaurant environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or senior server role.
* Communication: Exceptional verbal communication skills and the ability to lead a team with clarity and empathy.
* Hospitality Mindset: A proactive approach to "reading the room" and anticipating guest needs before they arise.
* Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using POS systems for order entry, billing, and reporting.
* Stamina: Ability to remain on your feet for long shifts and maintain high energy during peak breakfast, lunch, or weekend rushes.
