Sales Executive – General Trade (GT)

Position Overview
The Sales Executive – General Trade is responsible for driving sales growth by expanding Freossi's presence across the assigned territory. The role focuses on appointing and servicing retailers, building strong distributor relationships, achieving sales targets, ensuring product visibility, and executing market development initiatives.
The Sales Executive will play a critical role in establishing the company's footprint across general trade channels including pet shops, supermarkets, veterinary pharmacies, medical stores, and other identified retail formats.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Achieve monthly primary and secondary sales targets.
- Generate new business by identifying and onboarding retail outlets within the assigned territory.
- Increase product penetration across existing and new markets.
- Develop territory-wise growth plans to maximize market coverage.
- Execute company sales strategies to drive sustainable business growth.
Retail Expansion
- Appoint new retailers as per territory potential.
- Ensure complete coverage of assigned routes and beats.
- Increase numeric and weighted distribution.
- Build long-term relationships with retail partners.
- Identify high-potential outlets for premium product placement.
Distributor Management
- Work closely with appointed distributors to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure adequate stock availability across all SKUs.
- Monitor distributor inventory and recommend replenishment.
- Resolve distributor issues related to orders, payments, and logistics.
- Assist in appointing new distributors where required.
Merchandising & Visibility
- Ensure proper product placement at retail outlets.
- Maintain merchandising standards as defined by the company.
- Install branding materials and point-of-sale displays.
- Execute promotional activities and visibility campaigns.
Order Management
- Generate secondary sales orders through distributors.
- Ensure timely order booking and execution.
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve supply issues.
- Follow up on pending orders and deliveries.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor pricing, schemes, launches, and activities.
- Collect retailer feedback on products and market trends.
- Share market insights with reporting managers.
- Identify opportunities for portfolio expansion.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with retailers, distributors, and key influencers.
- Handle customer complaints professionally.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Support promotional events and retailer engagement activities.
Reporting & Compliance
- Submit daily call reports through the company's reporting system.
- Maintain accurate records of outlet visits and sales activities.
- Adhere to route plans and beat schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical sales practices.
Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline (preferred).
- Diploma or certification in Sales or Marketing is an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–4 years of experience in sales or General Trade sales.
- Experience in FMCG, Consumer Healthcare, Nutrition, Pet Care, Veterinary Products, OTC, or related industries preferred.
- Fresh graduates with strong sales aptitude may also be considered.
