Role Overview
The Management Trainee role is designed to develop future techno-commercial leaders in project logistics. The position is ideal for engineers with strong business orientation who aspire to build a career in business development, marketing, and solution selling within a technically intensive, project-driven environment.
The trainee will work closely with business development, operations, and engineering teams to design logistics solutions and support commercial engagements with EPC contractors, OEMs, and project owners.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Engagement
- Support identification and development of new business opportunities in project logistics
- Assist in engaging with EPC contractors, OEMs, and infrastructure developers
- Participate in client meetings to understand project scope, cargo details, timelines, and constraints
Techno-Commercial & Proposal Management
- Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to develop optimized logistics solutions
- Assist in preparation of techno-commercial proposals, route surveys, cost estimates, and tender submissions
- Support pricing analysis, bid evaluations, and commercial negotiations
Marketing & Market Intelligence
- Conduct market research on upcoming infrastructure and industrial projects in India
- Track competitors, pricing trends, and customer requirements
- Support preparation of marketing presentations, case studies, and participation in industry exhibitions
Learning & Cross-Functional Exposure
- Gain exposure to project execution, risk assessment, contract terms, and statutory compliances
- Work with finance, legal, and operations teams for holistic understanding of project logistics
- Take ownership of assigned BD and marketing initiatives under guidance
Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical / Civil / Electrical / Industrial preferred)
- MBA / PGDM (Marketing / Operations / Strategy / General Management) from a reputed Indian management institute
Skills & Competencies
- Strong commercial and analytical thinking
- Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, and logistics constraints
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Proactive, high-energy, and result-oriented approach
- Willingness to travel across India and project locations
Preferred Attributes
- Internship or project exposure in logistics, EPC, infrastructure, or supply chain
- Interest in techno-commercial solution selling rather than transactional sales
- Long-term aspiration to grow in business development or key account roles
