Job Purpose:
To lead and manage the overall operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring efficient production, quality output, cost control, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production & Operations Management
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily manufacturing activities to achieve production targets.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust workflow as needed to meet deadlines.
2. Quality Assurance
- Maintain strict quality standards in line with company and customer requirements.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions for quality deviations.
- Coordinate with the Quality team for audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
3. Maintenance & Equipment Management
- Ensure timely maintenance and servicing of machinery and utilities.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment efficiency.
4. Manpower & Team Leadership
- Lead, train, and motivate plant staff for better performance.
- Ensure proper manpower planning, shift scheduling, and discipline on the shop floor.
5. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with statutory and environmental regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety and cleanliness in the plant.
6. Inventory & Cost Control
- Monitor raw material usage, wastage, and inventory levels.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
7. Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production and performance reports.
- Coordinate with departments like Purchase, Sales, and Finance for smooth operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Production Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 2 – 5 years of experience in a manufacturing industry, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
