About the Role
Reel 9 Studio is looking for a creative and versatile Junior 3D Generalist Artist to work across 3D animation films, immersive experiences, VFX and various client projects.
The artist will work on characters, environments, props, architecture, cityscapes, stages and other 3D assets, along with texturing, materials, lighting and high-quality rendering.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D models for characters, environments, backgrounds, props and architecture.
- Work on 3D assets and scenes for animation films and cinematic projects.
- Create cityscapes, city architecture, stage designs, branding mockups and city beautification visuals.
- Create assets and environments for immersive content, VR, AR and XR projects.
- Handle UVs, texturing, materials and look development.
- Set up lighting, cameras and high-quality renders.
- Prepare render passes/AOVs/lighting passes for compositing and post-production.
- Prepare production-ready assets for animation and VFX workflows.
- Modify, optimize and refine assets according to project requirements.
- Work with Autodesk Maya, Blender or equivalent 3D software.
- Collaborate with animators, designers, VFX artists and the creative team.
- Research and independently solve technical or production problems using online resources, documentation and tutorials.
Requirements
- Good working knowledge of Autodesk Maya and/or Blender.
- Strong foundation in 3D modeling and asset creation.
- Understanding of character, environment and prop modeling.
- Good knowledge of UVs, texturing, materials and shading.
- Good understanding of lighting and high-quality rendering.
- Basic understanding of render passes/AOVs.
- Understanding of basic 3D animation and cinematic workflows.
- Good artistic sense and attention to detail.
- Ability to work on different types of projects and adapt to changing requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and self-learning ability.
- Knowledge of Substance Painter, ZBrush, Arnold, V-Ray, Redshift, Unreal Engine or similar tools is an advantage.
- Portfolio/Showreel is required.
