What is Civil Engineer Trainee?
Civil Engineer Trainee is an entry-level position for fresh civil engineering graduates (B.Tech/Diploma). It's a 1-2 year training program where you gain hands-on practical experience in construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:1. Site Work & Construction:
- Assist senior engineers in supervising daily construction activities
- Learn to read structural drawings and blueprints
- Monitor labor to ensure work is completed properly
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and site workers under supervision
- Learn and assist with site marking and layouts
2. Planning & Design:
- Assist on civil engineering drafting and design projects
- Prepare detailed drawings & drafting plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D Software
- Study project concepts, architectural drawings, and models
- Create feasibility studies by analyzing engineering design
3. Quality Control:
- Ensure quality and safety on construction site
- Monitor project progress and inspect construction sites
- Verify calculations and placements
- Treat every project as your responsibility, ensuring seamless execution
4. Documentation:
- Help prepare and maintain site records, daily logs, and reports
- Compile reports and deliver presentations to staff and stakeholders
- Conduct research and collect data
- Complete all tasks set by the supervisor
5. Administrative Duties:
- Attend meetings and workshops
- Observe health and safety guidelines at all times
- Travel to different sites when required
- Observe existing strategies and offer suggestions for improvement
6. Learning & Development:
- Gain practical experience in new work zones
- Submit to all forms of evaluation during traineeship
- Always expand engineering knowledge
- Learn from mentors and share ideas with the team
