Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Modeler to support an enterprise Microsoft Fabric data platform initiative. The role involves designing scalable, governed, and analytics-ready data models that enable trusted reporting and reusable data assets across multiple business domains. You will work closely with architects, data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into enterprise data models.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise data platforms.
- Develop dimensional data models that support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.
- Define fact tables, dimension tables, model grain, business keys, surrogate keys, hierarchies, and history management.
- Build reusable data models that align with enterprise data standards and governance practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements, KPIs, and reporting needs.
- Work with data engineering teams to convert business models into production-ready data assets.
- Design data structures supporting Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers within a modern Lakehouse architecture.
- Create source-to-target mappings and ensure consistency across multiple source systems.
- Support the design of enterprise reporting datasets and Power BI semantic models.
- Document data definitions, lineage, business rules, assumptions, and model decisions.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews to ensure consistency, scalability, and reusability.
- Drive data quality improvements by establishing standard definitions, metadata, and governance practices.
- Help eliminate duplicate datasets and promote trusted enterprise-wide data assets.
