Job Purpose
As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring software quality through functional, regression, integration, API, and automated testing. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to understand business requirements, validate application functionality, identify defects, and contribute to automation efforts using established testing frameworks and modern quality engineering practices.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Functions

Understand product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to design effective test scenarios.
- Create, maintain, and execute manual test cases for functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Identify, document, track, and verify defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
- Perform regression testing to validate defect fixes and ensure application stability.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and other Agile ceremonies to understand upcoming features and testing requirements.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using the existing Playwright automation framework under established framework standards.
- Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and maintain automation scripts as application functionality evolves.
- Perform API testing and backend data validation using SQL.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, and QA team members to improve product quality and test coverage.
- Support CI/CD execution of automated test suites and assist in improving automation stability.
- Utilize AI-powered development and testing tools to improve test creation, debugging, documentation, and overall productivity.
- Continuously learn new testing tools, automation technologies, and quality engineering best practices.
Non-Essential Functions

Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments is a plus.
- Basic understanding of container technologies (e.g., Docker) is preferred.
- Exposure to AI-powered software development and testing tools is desirable.
- Knowledge of Hospitality, SaaS, or Enterprise software products is an advantage.
Job Requirements
Required Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance within a product development environment.
- Hands-on experience in functional, regression, smoke, integration, and API testing.
- Experience with Playwright using JavaScript or TypeScript is preferred.
- Basic understanding of automation frameworks using Page Object Model (POM) or similar design patterns.
- Working knowledge of REST API testing and SQL for backend data validation.
- Experience with Git, Jira, Xray, and collaborative development workflows.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Strong understanding of software testing principles and defect lifecycle management.
Preferred Education and Experience

Exposure to automation testing using Playwright or similar automation frameworks.
- Experience using AI-powered development and testing tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Kiro, ChatGPT, or similar) is preferred.
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter is an added advantage.
- Experience working in Hospitality, SaaS, or Enterprise software products is preferred.

Work Timings:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, and should be flexible to support different time zones ranging between 11AM IST to 2AM IST, Work schedule may include evening hours or weekends due to client needs per manager instructions This role will be working in Hybrid Mode and will require at least 2 days’ work from office at Hyderabad. Occasional evening and weekend work may be expected in case of job-related emergencies or client needs.
