Job Description – 6G Welder( TIG & ARC)1. Position Overview
The 6G Welder will be responsible for performing high-quality welding on pipes, pressure vessels, and structural components as per ASME Section IX and WPS/PQR requirements. The role demands precision, adherence to welding procedures, and the ability to work under inspection and testing conditions for certification and production welding.
2. Key Responsibilities
· Perform welding in the 6G position (45° fixed pipe joint) using GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Arc) processes.
· Execute welds on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel materials as per WPS/PQR requirements.
· Read and interpret isometric drawings, welding symbols, and blueprints accurately.
· Prepare joints by cleaning, beveling, and aligning workpieces.
· Conduct root pass, hot pass, fill, and cap as per approved procedures.
· Ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, and company welding standards.
· Maintain welding equipment and consumables in proper working condition.
· Support QC inspections, including visual inspection, NDT (RT/UT/MT/PT), and mechanical testing stages.
· Assist in welder qualification tests and PQR coupon welding for certification.
· Follow all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) requirements during fabrication.
3. Skills & Qualifications
· Certified 6G Welder (ASME Section IX or equivalent).
· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in pressure vessel or heat exchanger fabrication.
· Skilled in TIG + Arc welding (GTAW + SMAW) for both root and fill passes.
· Strong knowledge of WPS/PQR procedures and filler material selection.
· Ability to weld in all positions and maintain weld quality under inspection.
· Familiar with NDT processes and acceptance criteria.
· Good communication, teamwork, and safety awareness.
4. Education & Certifications
· Technical Diploma or ITI Certificate in Welding / Fabrication.
· Valid ASME or AWS 6G Welder Qualification Certificate preferred.
· Additional certifications in GTAW/SMAW/PWHT awareness are an advantage.
5. Working Conditions
· Workshop-based with occasional site work.
· Must wear proper PPE and follow company HSE policy.
· May require overtime or weekend shifts based on project deadlines.
Pay: ₹55,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
