Job Title: VMC Setter Cum Operator

Experience: 5 Years (preferred)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled VMC Setter Cum Operator to set up, operate, and monitor Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines for precision component manufacturing. The candidate should have strong knowledge of tooling, setup, and machining processes to ensure high-quality output and efficient production.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Setup:
- Set up VMC machines as per job requirements and drawings
- Install and align fixtures, vises, and workpieces accurately
- Select and set cutting tools, offsets, and tool lengths
- Load and verify CNC programs before execution
Machine Operation:
- Operate VMC machines to produce components as per specifications
- Monitor machining operations and ensure smooth functioning
- Make necessary offset corrections during production
- Perform basic program edits if required
Quality Control:
- Inspect machined parts using measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, etc.)
- Ensure components meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards
- Identify defects and take corrective actions
Production Support:
- Maintain production targets and minimize cycle time
- Reduce material wastage and improve efficiency
- Coordinate with quality and production teams
Maintenance & Safety:
- Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
- Ensure proper handling of tools and equipment
- Follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in VMC machine setup and operation
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Knowledge of tooling, cutting parameters, and offsets
- Familiarity with CNC controls (Fanuc/Siemens/Mitsubishi preferred)
- Basic knowledge of G-code and program editing
Qualifications:
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in precision machining or production environment
- Handling multiple setups and batch production
