About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Executive to manage procurement activities, vendor relationships, and ensure uninterrupted availability of raw materials and other production requirements. The ideal candidate should have experience in a manufacturing environment and possess strong negotiation and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, and engineering items as per production requirements.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate commercial terms, and finalize purchase orders.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new suppliers.
- Ensure timely procurement to avoid production delays.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores and production teams for material planning.
- Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery from suppliers.
- Resolve issues related to quality, quantity, and delivery with vendors.
- Prepare cost analysis reports and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain procurement records, contracts, and vendor documentation.
- Coordinate with Accounts for invoice verification and payment follow-up.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and audit requirements.
- Support new product development by sourcing new materials and vendors.
Required Qualifications
- Technical degree / Diploma
- Diploma or certification in Materials Management/Purchasing will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 7-8 years of experience in purchasing within a manufacturing company.
- Experience in procurement of raw materials and industrial products preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems
Skills Required
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and inventory management.
- Good analytical and cost comparison skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic data analysis).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
