Role Summary
The Sociology Teacher is responsible for teaching sociology concepts, theories, and research methods to students, developing lesson plans, assessing student performance, and promoting critical thinking about social structures, cultures, and human behavior.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging sociology lessons according to the curriculum.
- Teach topics such as social institutions, culture, socialization, inequality, family, education, and social change.
- Prepare lesson plans, assignments, projects, and examinations.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through tests, presentations, and coursework.
- Encourage classroom discussions and critical analysis of social issues.
- Guide students in research projects and field studies.
- Maintain student records and provide academic feedback.
- Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development, and school activities.
- Stay updated with developments in sociology and educational practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- B.Ed. is mandatory
- Minimum 5+ years of experience teaching Sr.Secondary School.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Proficiency in using digital tools for lesson delivery and student engagement
- Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Sociology or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of sociological theories and research methods.

Experience
- Prior teaching experience is preferred.
