The ALM Platform team is responsible for operating and evolving the Polarion ALM platform used across Siemens Mobility worldwide. We ensure high availability, security, performance, and continuous improvement of the infrastructure supporting business-critical engineering projects.

Working closely with infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and application teams, you will help modernize our ALM platform through automation, cloud technologies, infrastructure-as-code, and observability while maintaining enterprise-grade reliability and compliance.

Your new role – challenging and future-oriented

You will operate, administer, and continuously improve the Polarion ALM infrastructure across production and non-production environments.
-
You will ensure high availability, performance, security, and reliability of business-critical ALM services.
-
You will administer Linux-based application servers and support application lifecycle activities including installations, upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
-
You will monitor platform health using modern observability tools, proactively identify issues, and perform root cause analysis to minimize service disruptions.
-
You will support cloud-based infrastructure hosted on AWS and Azure, including networking, load balancing, identity integration, and security services.
-
You will manage PostgreSQL databases, Lucene indexes, SVN repositories, backup and recovery processes, and data migrations.
-
You will implement and maintain enterprise authentication and authorization solutions including LDAP, Active Directory, SAML, OAuth/OIDC, and Kerberos integrations.
-
You will automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments using Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, scripting, and configuration management tools.
-
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Cloud, Linux, Security, Networking, and Development teams to deliver reliable platform services.

You will contribute to disaster recovery planning, capacity management, infrastructure modernization, and operational excellence initiatives.

You will maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, architecture diagrams, and knowledge base articles to support efficient service operations.

Your qualifications – well-founded and adequate
-
You have successfully completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or possess an equivalent technical qualification.
-
You have 2–4+ years of experience in Linux system administration, enterprise infrastructure operations, or application platform engineering.
-
You possess strong experience administering Linux (RHEL), networking, storage, and operating system services.
-
You have experience supporting enterprise applications, preferably Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) platforms such as Polarion.
-
You have hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
-
You possess strong experience administering Linux (RHEL), networking, storage, and operating system services.
-
You have experience with PostgreSQL database administration, backup/recovery, and performance optimization.
-
You are familiar with container technologies such as Docker and have exposure to Kubernetes.
-
You have experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI or Jenkins and Infrastructure as Code tools including Ansible or Terraform.
-
You have practical knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or ELK.

You understand security best practices, vulnerability management, infrastructure hardening, and compliance requirements.

You have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with experience performing incident management and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

You possess excellent communication skills and enjoy working collaboratively in global, cross-functional teams.
-
You demonstrate a proactive mindset with a strong focus on automation, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
