Job Purpose :
To lead and manage the Research & Development function for product development, process improvement, cost optimization, and innovation in line with business, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Head and oversee all R&D activities including product development and process optimization.
- Develop new chemical products and improve existing formulations and processes.
- Conduct lab-scale and pilot-scale trials and support scale-up to commercial production.
- Coordinate with Production, QC, QA, and EHS teams for smooth technology transfer.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
- Prepare and review technical documents, SOPs, and development reports.
- Analyze raw material alternatives and cost-reduction opportunities.
- Lead troubleshooting for process inefficiencies and quality issues.
- Manage R&D budgets, resources, and laboratory infrastructure.
- Mentor, train, and evaluate R&D team members.
- Support customer technical queries, audits, and product approvals.
Qualifications :
- M.Sc / Ph.D in Chemistry (Organic / Inorganic / Analytical / Industrial).
or
- B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
Experience & Skills :
- 10–15 years of experience in R&D within chemical manufacturing.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of chemical synthesis, formulations, and scale-up.
- Familiarity with ISO, GMP, and regulatory documentation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong inter-departmental coordination and leadership abilities.
