Job Title: Radiology Faculty / Lecturer (Radiology)
Department: Radiology / Medical Imaging Technology
Reports To: Head of Department (HOD)
Job Summary
Radiology Faculty are responsible for teaching theoretical and practical subjects in Radiology and Medical Imaging Technology programs. They guide students in diagnostic imaging techniques, radiation safety, and clinical procedures while also supporting academic development and institutional requirements as per norms of University Grants Commission and All India Council for Technical Education (for technical programs).
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Academic Duties
- Deliver lectures in subjects such as:
o Radiographic Techniques
o Radiation Physics
o Anatomy & Physiology
o CT Scan / MRI Basics
o Imaging Equipment
- Prepare lesson plans, presentations, and study materials.
- Conduct classroom teaching, demonstrations, and lab sessions.
2. Practical & Clinical Training
o X-ray positioning techniques
o Radiation safety protocols
o Equipment handling
- Coordinate with hospitals/diagnostic centers for clinical postings.
- Supervise students during practical and internship training.
3. Examination & Evaluation
- Prepare question papers and assignments.
- Conduct internal assessments and practical exams.
- Evaluate answer sheets and maintain academic records.
4. Curriculum Development
- Update syllabus as per new technology and council guidelines.
- Prepare academic calendar and course structure.
5. Research & Development (for Degree Colleges)
- Encourage research projects and case studies.
- Participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences.
6. Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain laboratory stock and equipment records.
- Support accreditation and inspection processes.
- Assist in admission counseling and student mentoring.
Educational Qualification
For Diploma Level
- B.Sc. Radiology / Medical Imaging Technology
OR
- Diploma in Radiology with minimum 2–3 years clinical experience.
For Degree Level
- M.Sc. Radiology / Medical Imaging Technology
- Preference for teaching experience.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures and imaging equipment.
- Teaching and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of radiation protection standards.
- Basic computer skills (PACS, digital imaging software, MS Office).
