An Operation Theatre (OT) Technician is a critical allied healthcare professional who manages the operating room, ensures a sterile environment, and supports surgeons and anesthetists before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Pre-Operative Duties (Before Surgery)
- Room Preparation: Sanitize and prepare the operating room, ensuring strict infection control standards.
- Equipment Setup: Calibrate, test, and arrange surgical instruments, monitors, lights, and anesthesia machines.
- Patient Transport: Safely transfer the patient to the OT and help them onto the operating table.
- Intra-Operative Duties (During Surgery)
- Surgical Assistance: Pass sterile surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies directly to the surgeons as needed.
- Anesthesia Support: Assist the anesthetist in monitoring vital signs and managing medical gases.
- Patient Positioning: Help position and drape the patient correctly for the specific procedure.
- Post-Operative Duties (After Surgery)
- Patient Transfer: Safely move the patient from the operating table to a stretcher and transfer them to the recovery room.
- Instrument Processing: Collect, clean, and sterilize used surgical tools according to hospital protocols.
- Cleanup & Restocking: Dispose of biohazardous waste, sanitize the OT, and restock necessary supplies for the next surgery
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
