About the role
We are an India-based plastic and lead recycling company expanding into international scrap import. We are looking for a part-time or freelance procurement representative based in UAE, Malaysia, Singapore, or Indonesia who can identify, evaluate, and source plastic scrap (PP, HDPE, ABS, PET) and lead acid battery scrap for export to India.
This is a commission-based or retainer + commission role. You will act as our eyes on the ground — building supplier relationships, evaluating material quality, coordinating export documentation, and facilitating shipments. No office required; work from your location.

Key responsibilities
- Identify and contact plastic scrap and battery scrap suppliers, dealers, and recyclers in your country
- Evaluate material quality and grade (PP, HDPE, ABS, PET for plastic; whole/drained/crushed for LAB scrap)
- Negotiate purchase price based on material grade, quantity, and freight cost to India
- Coordinate material inspection, photos/videos, and sampling before purchase confirmation
- Liaise with freight forwarders and shipping agents for export from your country to India
- Assist in export documentation — commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, Bill of Lading
- Ensure compliance with your country's export regulations for scrap/recyclables
- Provide weekly update reports on sourcing pipeline and pricing
- Build long-term supplier relationships for regular material supply
Requirements
- Currently based in UAE, Malaysia, Singapore, or Indonesia
- 2–6 years of experience in scrap trading, recycling procurement, commodity import-export, or waste management
- Knowledge of plastic grades (PP, HDPE, ABS, PET) or lead acid battery scrap — or both
- Existing network of scrap dealers, recyclers, or waste generators in your country (strong advantage)
- Understanding of export documentation and shipping procedures
- Comfortable with remote coordination via WhatsApp, email, and video calls with India office
- Fluent in English; local language proficiency preferred
Preferred background
- Previously worked in scrap export companies, recycling firms, or commodity trading businesses
- Indian expat with knowledge of both Indian import requirements and local country supply market
- Experience with Basel Convention compliance for cross-border scrap/waste movement
- Knowledge of India's import regulations for plastic scrap and battery scrap (CPCB, DGFT norms)
- Familiarity with freight terms — FOB, CIF, C&F pricing
Compensation
Retainer fee + commission per successful shipment. Commission structure based on volume and material type. Open to negotiation based on experience and country of location. Exact terms discussed during interview.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per week
