Quality Control Manager – Heavy Engineering / Foundry / Steel Plant Equipment ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a seasoned Quality Control Manager to lead and strengthen our quality function at our Bokaro Steel City facility. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience in foundry, heavy engineering, or steel plant environments and is ready to own the full quality lifecycle — from inspection planning through final product release. This is a critical leadership role for someone who takes pride in building robust quality systems and driving a culture of continuous improvement. RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop, implement, and maintain inspection plans covering in-process and final inspection stages - Serve as the final release authority for products before dispatch, ensuring all customer quality requirements are met - Lead non-conformance reporting (NCR) processes and drive timely root cause analysis and closure of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) - Manage and audit vendor quality, including supplier qualification, incoming inspection, and performance monitoring - Own and maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ensuring ongoing compliance and readiness for external audits - Liaise directly with customers on quality-related matters, including review of customer specifications, quality plans, and resolution of field complaints - Coordinate pressure testing and other destructive or non-destructive inspection activities as required by applicable standards - Lead and mentor the QC team, building capability and ensuring consistent application of quality procedures - Prepare and present quality performance metrics and reports to senior management - Drive initiatives to reduce rejections, rework, and warranty costs across manufacturing operations REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) - 5 to 10 years of progressive quality control experience in foundry, heavy engineering, steel plant equipment manufacturing, pressure testing, or fabrication - Demonstrated experience as final release authority with accountability for product conformance - Strong working knowledge of inspection plan preparation and execution - Hands-on experience managing NCRs and CAPA processes end to end - Proven track record in vendor quality management and supplier audits - Working knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS requirements and audit processes - Familiarity with relevant standards such as IBR, ASME, IS, or equivalent as applicable to the industry PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Certification in Quality Management (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt) - Experience with third-party inspection agencies and customer hold-point inspections - Exposure to PPAP, FMEA, or other advanced quality planning tools - Prior experience handling statutory and regulatory compliance requirements in heavy engineering or steel sector environments WHAT WE OFFER - A leadership role with direct impact on product quality and customer satisfaction - Stable, long-term opportunity with a well-established manufacturing organization - Collaborative work environment with cross-functional exposure - Opportunity to build and lead a capable QC team - Professional growth through quality system ownership and continuous improvement initiatives HOW TO APPLY Interested candidates may apply directly through this job posting.
