Job Overview
- Company: Leading Chemical manufacturing Company
- Location: Hajipir, Kutch, Gujarat
- Department: Brine Field Operations
- Reports To: Manager / Senior Manager – Brine Field
- Employment Type: Full-time
Educational Qualifications
- Minimum: B.Sc. in Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry OR Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
- Preferred: M.Sc. in Chemistry OR B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
Work Experience
- 2 to 5 years of core operational experience in large-scale solar salt works, brine fields, or marine chemical industries.
- Direct exposure to sub-soil brine chemistry, bittern management, or handling feeds for Bromine/Potash plants is a major advantage.
Job Purpose
The Production Executive – Brine Field is responsible for day-to-day operations, monitoring, and optimization of the solar evaporation ponds and raw brine extraction infrastructure. The primary objective is to manage the flow, density, and chemical composition of the brine, ensuring a continuous, high-quality feed of raw materials to the downstream Industrial Salt, Liquid Bromine, and Sulphate of Potash (SOP) manufacturing units.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Process Management
- Pond Management: Oversee the movement of brine across sequential solar evaporation ponds based on density profiles to facilitate optimal fractional crystallization.
- Extraction & Feeding: Monitor intake pumps, and feeding channels to ensure the continuous extraction of sub-soil brine and its systematic transfer to the plant.
- Harvesting Coordination: Plan and execute the seasonal harvesting of Industrial Salt and the recovery of bitterns rich in Bromine and Potassium.
- Mass Balance Maintenance: Maintain strict control over brine volumes and avoid dilution or mixing mishaps across different grades of ponds.
2. Quality Control & Analytical Monitoring
- Density & Chemistry Tracking: Perform regular field testing and coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) lab to monitor concentration profiles.
- Yield Optimization: Adjust retention times and flow rates in response to weather shifts (high temperature, humidity, wind velocity) to maximize recovery rates for Bromine and SOP feedstocks.
3. Engineering & Field Maintenance
- Infrastructure Inspection: Conduct daily checks on pond bunds, embankments, open channels, and gates to prevent leakages, seepage, or cross-contamination.
- Equipment Upkeep: Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive upkeep of high-capacity diesel/electric pumps, piping networks, and heavy earth-moving equipment (e.g., excavators, harvesters).
4. Safety, Environment & Compliance
- Weather Contingency: Assist in implementing emergency protocols during unseasonal rains or cyclonic activities in the Kutch region to safeguard brine concentrations.
- EHS Adherence: Enforce strict Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines for field labor and operators working in harsh desert conditions.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Log Maintenance: Maintain comprehensive daily logs of pump run-hours, pond levels, density charts, and transfer volumes.
- Shift Handovers: Generate accurate shift-end production reports for senior management to flag processing bottlenecks early.
Candidate Profile
Key Skills & Technical Competencies
- Thorough understanding of solar evaporation physics, crystallization kinetics.
- Proficient in managing complex piping networks and high-capacity centrifugal/axial pumps.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (like SAP) for logging field data and material movements.
- Strong team management skills to direct field operators and contract labourers.
Physical & General Requirements
- Resilience to Weather: Ability to work extensively in open, high-temperature, and remote outdoor terrains characteristic of Hajipir, Kutch.
- Problem-Solving: Quick adaptability to manage physical field emergencies (bund cracks, pump failures).
- Language: Fluency in Hindi and Gujarati is highly preferred for seamless on-site labour coordination.
Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹450,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
