Position: Milling Operator
Experience: 0–5 Years
Industry: SPM (Special Purpose Machine) / Industrial Automation
Qualification: ITI Machinist / Fitter / Turner or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Key Responsibilities
- Operate conventional or CNC milling machines to manufacture precision machine components.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, machining layouts, and job cards.
- Set up workpieces using fixtures, clamps, and vices.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for machining operations.
- Perform milling operations such as facing, slotting, drilling, keyway cutting, and profile milling.
- Measure finished components using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and Dial Gauge.
- Ensure components meet drawing dimensions and quality standards.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
- Follow production schedules and achieve daily production targets.
- Maintain 5S, safety standards, and proper documentation in the machine shop.
- Coordinate with the Design, Production, and Quality teams for machining requirements.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of conventional/CNC milling machine operations.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T basics.
- Familiarity with cutting tools, machining parameters, and fixtures.
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Basic understanding of SPM machine components.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to quality and safety.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 0–5 years of experience in milling operations (Freshers with ITI/Diploma can also apply).
- Experience in SPM, industrial automation, machine building, or precision engineering is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in shifts and meet production deadlines.
