- Patient Care & Monitoring: Provide continuous, comprehensive care for critically ill patients, including advanced assessment, monitoring vital signs, and interpreting diagnostic tests.
- Treatment Planning & Implementation: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, managing medications, ventilators, and fluid/electrolyte balance.
- Procedures & Interventions: Perform critical care procedures such as endotracheal intubation, central line and arterial line insertion, and assist with tracheostomies.
- Emergency Response: Act as a first responder to critical events, leading resuscitation efforts and coordinating the response team.
- Supervision & Training: Oversee and mentor junior residents, nurses, and technicians in the ICU setting.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work with attending physicians, nurses, and other specialists to develop optimal patient care strategies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with hospital standards.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients' families regarding their condition, prognosis, and treatment plans.
- Academic & Quality Improvement: Participate in department CMEs, training programs, research, quality improvement initiatives, and audits to meet accreditation standards.
