We are hiring an AWS Cloud & RDS MySQL Support Engineer to support and manage enterprise-scale production environments hosted on AWS cloud infrastructure.
This role is ideal for candidates who have hands-on experience working on live production systems, Amazon RDS MySQL databases, AWS Console operations, monitoring tools, and cloud infrastructure troubleshooting.
The selected candidate will work closely with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to monitor, troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain mission-critical production applications and databases used by millions of users.
We are specifically looking for candidates with strong production support, AWS operations, database administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting experience.
Monitor and manage Amazon RDS MySQL databases in production and staging environments
Work on AWS Console for cloud infrastructure monitoring and support activities
Troubleshoot database performance issues, slow queries, deadlocks, and connectivity failures
Analyze and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans
Monitor CPU, memory, storage, IOPS, replication lag, and database health
Handle database backup, restore, snapshots, failover, and recovery operations
Monitor applications and infrastructure using CloudWatch and other monitoring tools
Support production deployments, maintenance, and release activities
Manage database users, permissions, access controls, and security configurations
Work with Linux servers for basic troubleshooting and log analysis
Assist development teams with database and application-related troubleshooting
Support AWS infrastructure components including EC2, IAM, VPC, S3, and Lambda
Monitor production alerts, incidents, and perform root cause analysis (RCA)
Coordinate with DevOps, infrastructure, and engineering teams during critical production incidents
Maintain proper operational documentation and incident reports
Participate in shift-based or weekend support activities when required
Strong understanding of MySQL Database Administration
Hands-on experience with Amazon RDS MySQL
Good understanding of SQL queries, joins, indexing, normalization, and query optimization
Experience monitoring slow queries and tuning database performance
Understanding of replication, read replicas, backups, snapshots, and restore operations
Knowledge of database locking, deadlocks, and performance troubleshooting
Good hands-on experience with AWS Console
Understanding of Amazon RDS, EC2, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, S3, and Lambda
Familiarity with serverless architecture and AWS Lambda workflows
Ability to analyze logs, alerts, and production incidents
Exposure to monitoring and alerting systems
Understanding of cloud infrastructure and application hosting concepts
Understanding of AWS cost optimization best practices
Ability to identify unnecessary cloud resource usage and optimization opportunities
Knowledge of:
RDS sizing optimization
Reserved Instances
Snapshot lifecycle management
Storage optimization
CloudWatch monitoring optimization
Idle resource identification
Understanding of balancing infrastructure performance with operational cost efficiency
Experience working in live production support environments
Basic Linux command-line and troubleshooting knowledge
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to troubleshoot production issues logically under pressure
Good communication and coordination skills
Willingness to learn and work on enterprise-scale cloud systems
Exposure to DynamoDB
Knowledge of Aurora MySQL
Experience with AWS Lambda functions and serverless workflows
Exposure to AWS CloudFormation or Terraform
Basic scripting knowledge (Shell/Python/Bash)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
Knowledge of monitoring tools like Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, or New Relic
Understanding of caching systems like Redis or ElastiCache
Exposure to Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes is an added advantage
Candidates who have worked on live production applications and databases
Engineers comfortable working daily on AWS Console and cloud operations
Strong troubleshooting mindset rather than only theoretical knowledge
Candidates who understand both database performance and cloud infrastructure impact
Someone who can identify issues quickly during production outages
Engineers aware of AWS resource optimization and cost-saving approaches
Quick learners with ownership mindset and willingness to grow in Cloud, AWS, Database, and DevOps technologies
Candidates from product companies, SaaS platforms, cloud support, production support, or high-traffic environments are highly preferred
