Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and target-driven Business Development Associate with strong experience in the Gem and Stone industry, especially in handling the US market.
The ideal candidate must have prior experience in generating qualified leads through outbound outreach, handling inbound enquiries, building strong client relationships, and closing sales with international buyers, wholesalers, retailers, jewelry brands, designers, and distributors.
This role requires someone who understands the gemstone and natural stone business, buyer behavior in the US market, pricing communication, product presentation, follow-ups, negotiation, and sales closing.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead Generation & Prospecting
- Identify and generate potential business leads from the US market through outbound channels.
- Research and build databases of gemstone buyers, jewelry brands, wholesalers, retailers, designers, importers, and distributors.
- Use LinkedIn, email outreach, cold calling, business directories, trade platforms, and industry networks to create new opportunities.
- Qualify leads based on buyer requirement, budget, product interest, purchase potential, and decision-making authority.
Outbound Sales & Client Acquisition
- Plan and execute outbound outreach campaigns for the US market.
- Contact potential buyers through email, calls, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and other professional channels.
- Present gemstone and stone product collections in a clear and professional manner.
- Follow up consistently with prospects and move them through the sales pipeline.
- Convert cold leads into warm prospects and close them into active clients.
Inbound Lead Handling
- Handle inbound enquiries from website, social media, trade portals, referrals, and campaigns.
- Understand customer requirements related to gemstones, stone type, size, quality, certification, quantity, pricing, and delivery timeline.
- Share product details, catalogues, pricing, availability, and commercial terms professionally.
- Ensure every inbound lead is followed up properly until closure or final response.
Sales Closing & Negotiation
- Negotiate pricing, order quantity, payment terms, shipping timelines, and product specifications.
- Build trust with international clients and close deals effectively.
- Coordinate with internal teams for product availability, quotations, samples, documentation, and dispatch updates.
- Maintain long-term relationships with repeat buyers and high-value clients.
Market Knowledge & Client Relationship
- Understand the US gemstone and jewelry market trends, buyer preferences, product demand, and competition.
- Maintain strong communication with existing and potential clients.
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities based on client requirements.
- Represent the company professionally in all client interactions.
CRM & Reporting
- Maintain accurate lead records, communication history, quotations, follow-ups, and deal status in CRM or sales tracking sheets.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on outreach, leads generated, conversions, and revenue pipeline.
- Track performance metrics such as calls, emails, meetings booked, qualified leads, proposals sent, and deals closed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, B2B sales, export sales, or international client acquisition.
- Previous experience in the Gemstone, Natural Stone, Jewelry, Luxury, or Export industry is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the US market and international buyer communication.
- Proven ability to generate leads through outbound outreach and close business opportunities.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong negotiation, follow-up, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to understand product details, pricing, quality grades, and client requirements.
- Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM tools, email outreach tools, Excel/Google Sheets, and lead generation platforms is an added advantage.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, target-oriented, and able to work independently.

Work Timing

The ideal candidate is someone who already has hands-on experience in the Gem and Stone field, understands how to approach US-based buyers, knows how to handle both outbound and inbound leads, and has the confidence to communicate, negotiate, and close deals professionally.
