Registered Pharmacist
Job Summary:
A Registered Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications accurately, ensuring safe medication practices, and providing pharmaceutical care to patients. The pharmacist works closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective and safe use of medicines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense prescribed medications accurately according to doctor prescriptions.
- Review prescriptions to ensure correct dosage, drug interactions, and patient safety.
- Provide guidance to patients on proper use of medicines, dosage, and possible side effects.
- Maintain proper records of medications, narcotics, and pharmacy stock.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, hospital policies, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor inventory and coordinate procurement of medicines and pharmacy supplies.
- Maintain proper storage conditions for drugs and medical products.
- Participate in medication safety programs and quality improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff regarding medication therapy.
- Ensure pharmacy cleanliness and organization as per hospital standards.
Qualification:
- B.Pharm / D.Pharm from a recognized institution.
- Valid State Pharmacy Council Registration.
Experience:
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy preferred.
Skills Required:
- Good knowledge of medicines and pharmaceutical practices.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing.
- Good communication and patient counseling skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and pharmacy software handling.
