Sample Collection and Processing: Collecting blood via phlebotomy, receiving urine or tissue specimens, checking labels for accuracy, and centrifuging samples to isolate plasma or serum.
Testing and Automation: Testing body fluids using automated cell counters, chemistry analyzers, and digital microscopes to evaluate chemical composition, cell counts, or blood types.
- Equipment Maintenance: Calibrating, cleaning, sterilizing, and troubleshooting laboratory instruments to ensure continuous accuracy.
- Quality Control: Running standards and controls daily, identifying inconsistencies in test outcomes, and executing corrective actions before releasing results.
- Data Management: Entering test findings accurately into electronic patient health records and reporting critical values or abnormal findings immediately to doctors or nurses.
